Vortex Arena

Our first game, Vortex Arena was released at the beginning of last year. We decided to release it as open source software in an early beta stage. You can download the project here.

The game was developed using the Haaf Game Engine, which is a very nice, 2D game engine for Windows platform. The project was written as a prototype to get a grasp on a game design idea, but in the end evolved into a nice little game on its own. Being open source, you can extend and use the code of the game as you see fit, as long as you are not breaking the open source license agreement under which it was released. It can be a great tool for learning game development in general, how to use HGE engine or you can use it as a startup to develop your very own game.
